 Bid for Grain Operator in Canada Sets Up Fight
OTTAWA — Viterra’s announcement late on Friday that it has become the subject of possible takeover bids has prompted investor interest and may lead to political controversy within Canada this week.
An acquisition of the company, which is Canada’s largest grain handling and marketing firm and has a market capitalization of about $5 billion, would be the latest in a series of realignments following the government’s decision to end a 76-year-old monopoly on export sales of Canadian wheat and barley later this year.

Remains of 167 Are Discovered in Mexico Cave
MEXICO CITY (AP) — The authorities have found the remains of 167 people in a cave in southern Mexico, and forensic experts believe the bodies are at least 50 years old, according to a statement released Saturday by prosecutors in Chiapas State.
The prosecutors said the remains were found Friday on the Nuevo Ojo de Agua ranch, in an area frequently used by Central American migrants traveling north. They said that the remains, which “break easily,” bore no visible signs of violence.
